I thought I'm just gonna say that I'm a simple girl in this complicated world, but I think it's just what I want to be - a simple person.

.Warung Little India, Ubud.

One of my memorable experience in Ubud :) I found myself craving for some Indian food that day, so after some googling we heard about this place. It's a bit far from the main street, but thank God our driver could find it. We have to walk back to our hotel but I think we need it after our feast that night hehe..
The restaurant wasn't big nor fancy but comfy enough for 8-15 people. They put some ornament on the roof, I found myself love this quirky decoration :)
Mr Chubby ordered this plate, I forgot the name, sorry :( I think it's around 40K. It consisted of chicken curry, samosa, naan, dal, sour cream & tamarind sauce, pickles and another sauce I forgot. It's good! especially the samosa, it was freshly fried and the vegetables and herb really mixed well, yum! No wonder it's their best seller !
I wasn't too hungry that night, so I only ordered the appetizer sample, 30K. My gosh for that price, you got naan, eggplant dip, hummus, and 2 sauces. The eggplant dip was tasty but the hummus...man that changed my world! It was freshly prepared so it was still warm and they put garlic and lemon juice in it.. so what's not to love? Seriously having a foodgasm after this plate. And we ordered it again. Haha! Completely bloated after that but it's worth it!
Ended the night with this lovely chai granita..yum yum!

There's only one person in charge for taking our order, serving our food, getting our bill, cleaned the table, etc, so it was like a Diner Dash game. But even with the hectic situation, he still smile and do his best of taking care of the customers. He told us he also had an office job back then in Mega Kuningan, Jakarta, near our office. But he left the job and start staying at Bali. When I ask him, would you come back to Jakarta for bigger money and job? He said naah. He doesn't like that life.

Seeing a person left all the hedonist life on the big city, and devoted his life on this island, chasing his dreams, make the best out of his life, makes me wonder can I do the same? It's a big question.

.Bebek Bengil, Ubud.

One of the restaurant we tried at Ubud was Bebek Bengil (Dirty Duck). I think I started eating duck last year, since usually I hate the smell. In fact the only thing that made me start eating duck maybe only because of the chili (how Indonesian am I? -__- ).

Well anyway we went to this restaurant for lunch one day. The restaurant was very spacious, a bit old, but I think what made the visit bad was the service. I didn't hoping for the waitress to kiss my ass but come on, at least put on a smile when a customer entering the restaurant. From the first time we entered the restaurant, until we paid the bill and left, I haven't seen any smile on the staff. Crazy right? Especially for Bali standard.

The restaurant wasn't crowded that day (many empty tables), but it seems no one's in charge for the service quality. We have to find a table ourselves, putting our order was a hard work as all of the waitresses seem to be "busy" when we ask them.
I tried the famous Bebek Bengil, I think it's around 90K -ish. To be honest I don't quite understand all the hypes or maybe I'm already having a bad time, but it's just ordinary for me. The chili didn't make up for me, none of them was spicy.
Mr Chubby ordered the Nasi Campur (around 70K-ish),and I think it's better than my food.

My Bali friend told me maybe that's because we're Indonesians, but I don't think it's because of it. I'm seeing other tables also had the same thing with us, and they're foreigners.

Will I be back? Definitely not.

.Ubud, Bali, 2013.

After staying at Seminyak for few days, we continue our venture to Ubud. The area was calm compared to the noise of the big city.

We stayed at Kajane Mua, I love the staffs! They are very polite and seems happy doing their job, it's one key for a happy life, don't you think so? :) We were staying at Danu Villa for 2 days and Toya Villa on the last day. The difference is Toya Villa is bigger and it has a private pool.
Welcome drink (cold coconut water) upon arrival :)
Shared pool, too bad we hadn't had a chance to try it :(
To my surprise, we were given the honeymoon setup for free, yayyy for free things! :P
They also put arranged flowers on the bath up! How nice!

On the last day, we change our room to Toya Villa. Wow that villa was spacious!
The private pool with the wooden swinging chair  ^^
The changing room, sorry for the mess ;)

The open area (on the left is toilet, right is shower room)
Okay I didn't use this open air bath tub....It was too..open space?

What I love about this hotel is their free car transfer service (around Ubud) by availability and again, the staff.
I spent the last day with sleeping on the couch and just enjoying the moment :)

Btw, their breakfast selection also good. They had several options (japanese, western, indonesian, continental, etc). What I remembering the most was the croissant, it was superb!

Breakfast served at villa? Heaven....
We also found the Kou Cuisine shop! I bought the Pineapple & Guava and Milk Caramel jam home. the milk caramel was wayyyy to sweet for my tastebud. The pineapple one was better although I still prefer it to be less sweet.
We also rent bicycles as our way browsing through Ubud area...Found this famous Cafe Seniman,
Hello cutie

And.... this shark?
Anyway that's it for Ubud! Can't wait for our second honeymoon :)

.Seminyak, Bali, 2013.

So, I'm officially Mrs Chubby for 3 months now  ;)
Thank you for all of our friends and colleagues who had been with us through all these years and supporting us till this time, without you guys we won't be together :)

Well anyway, for our honeymoon, I choose the mainstream one, Bali hehe.. It's one of the trip when we super unprepared, meaning we don't have any itenary or purpose. Well I have one actually, to relax and eat as much as I can :P
We choose to stay at Seminyak first, and then headed to Ubud. We stayed at Villa Kayu Raja, it's a modern villa with traditional touch. I loveeee the villa, it's not so far from the crowd (approx. 10 minutes driving to Seminyak Square) but secluded enough so you got your privacy. I got 2-nights deal from coupon site (LivingSocial I guess) for only 2,6 million! yay ;)
The first floor are the living room, with small kitchen complete with stove, refrigerator, and of course..
the pool! yayyy :D

I love the private pool! it's bigger than I thought :) They also provide wifi (which fast! yay to free wifi!), iron board (super important for me because I hate when wrinkled dress), Shuttle Bus (every 3 hours, not bad), and the staffs are very nice :)
On the second level, it's our bedroom :) check out the bathroom, it's super cool! It has whirlpool bath tub (can we install this at home my hubby? :P) , separate wash basins (always love these!), and 2 types of shower (can we install this one at least, please?). I especially love the whirlpool, because the lamp color changed every 5 seconds and of course, the hot bubbly water, what not to love? ;)
Our villa itself is located on almost the end of the alley, but I think it's okay since the breakfast is buffet style and I don't mind waste some calories on my walk towards the restaurant (as long as ham and bacon involved on the menu of course!)
We also visited the Petitenget beach, it was lovely :)
Of course, Ice Cream is mandatory on this sunny island!
On our first day, during our walk that noon, we found this humble warung, named Warung Eny. I just trust my guts, and thank God it didn't go wrong. My visit was very memorable, My Chubby even so impressed that he will went to this place again before going back to Jakarta (although we couldn't make it hiks). We ordered their Nasi Campur Bali (I think it's 40K ish), it was one of the best nasi campur I had in Bali!
But the star of the evening is the Grilled Red Snapper (150K), super moist and flaky, and the garlic sauce made it even better! Foodgasm alert!
Later that night, we found this Patty burger near our hotel. We ordered the Gourmet Burger 55K (beef steak with red wine aioli and caramelized onion) and ........I forgot the name of the other one (the one with egg). The meat was a bit though but the aioli and onion made up for it, and the portion was super big (I couldnt finish it!) so sharing is caring :)
We also made a visit to titiles, and found this cute bambi! :)
